The cabinet on the pad: HV and LV compartment enclosures, sills, hoods and doors for single- and three-phase pad-mount transformers, built to your print on dedicated production lines.
Every pad-mount distribution transformer ships inside a cabinet: a tamper-resistant, NEMA 3R compartment enclosure with a high-voltage side, a low-voltage side, a hinged hood or doors, a sill that bolts to the pad, and the penta-head bolts, hasps and barriers the utility standard requires. Transformer OEMs build the core-and-coil and the tank; increasingly they buy the cabinet from a contract fabricator so their own floor space goes to the transformer.
FabTek is that fabricator for several of the largest transformer OEMs in North America and for the mid-market OEMs and remanufacturers growing behind them. We fabricate pad-mount transformer cabinets at hundreds of units per month on a single shift at our Hazlehurst, Mississippi plants — laser-cut, formed on CNC press brakes, welded, hardware installed, powder-coated in-house to the utility's ANSI color, and shipped wrapped and staged for the OEM's line. Single-phase and three-phase, dead-front and live-front, loop-feed and radial-feed configurations, to whatever print you release.
Two-compartment HV/LV cabinets with hoods or double doors, interphase barriers, sills and parking-stand provisions, per ANSI C57.12.34-style OEM drawings.
Compact one-piece cabinets and hoods for single-phase units, high-volume, with tamper-resistant hardware.
Component-level supply: cabinet sills, hinged hoods, HV/LV doors, sill extensions, barriers and bushing wells' surrounding panels.
Custom compartment enclosures and cabinet variants to print.

Distribution transformers for investor-owned utilities, public power and cooperatives; the padmount fleets being installed at data center campuses and industrial parks; remanufactured and repaired units that need a new or replacement cabinet. Our guide on why transformer OEMs outsource tanks, cabinets and enclosures covers the sourcing decision from the OEM's side.

For a recurring program we stand up a dedicated production line: fixtures built to your print, the same operators, monthly capacity reserved against your forecast, and a controlled drawing revision per release. That is how we deliver hundreds of cabinets a month with consistent fit to the tank, and why our OEM customers plan their transformer output around our cabinet schedule rather than the other way round. Our guide on the cost of a stalled line vs. reserved capacity puts numbers on that.
