A pad-mount transformer is a tank with a cabinet bolted to its front. OEMs buy them as separate part numbers, often from separate suppliers, and the fit between the two — the cabinet flange to the tank front, the sill to the tank base, the bushing wells to the cabinet's interior clearances — is where field problems start. FabTek builds both, and builds them to fit each other.
We fabricate pad-mount tank bodies to OEM print at our Hazlehurst, Mississippi plants: corrugated-wall or smooth-wall construction with radiator provisions, welded floors and top frames, bolted or welded covers, cabinet interface flanges, bushing pads, drain, fill and pressure-relief fittings, lifting lugs and parking-stand provisions. Every tank is leak-tested before finish and powder-coated in-house to the utility color. Program customers run tanks and cabinets on the same dedicated line with one release schedule.
