Overview

Backup power runs on a fuel system, and a fuel system runs on steel.

A hyperscale generator yard holds hours or days of diesel in bulk tanks, moves it through transfer pumps and piping to day tanks at each generator, and has to contain every drop of it. The tanks are the tank manufacturer's; nearly everything around them is fabrication: the skids and containment pans day tanks sit on, the saddles and supports under bulk tanks, the fill-station and transfer-pump enclosures, the pipe racks and supports, and the welded double-wall or single-wall fuel piping spools that tie it together.

FabTek fabricates fuel-system steel at our Hazlehurst, Mississippi plants. Skids, saddles and containment are welded to AWS D1.1 and leak-tested; fuel spools are welded to ASME B31.1 or B31.3 by Section IX welders and pressure-tested; pump and fill-station enclosures come from our enclosure line; and everything is powder-coated in-house or galvanized through our finishing partners. It ships with the generator enclosures and yard steel from the same plants.

What We Build

What we fabricate.

01

Day-tank skids & containment

Welded skids with integral containment pans sized to the tank, with lifting and anchor provisions.

02

Bulk tank saddles & supports

Saddles, cradles and support frames for horizontal and vertical bulk tanks.

03

Fill & transfer stations

Enclosures and frames for fill connections, transfer pumps, filtration and metering.

04

Fuel piping spools

Welded carbon steel supply and return spools, single- or double-wall, with flanged or welded ends.

05

Pipe racks & supports

Yard pipe racks, trapezes and anchors for the fuel runs.

06

Containment & spill steel

Containment curbs, grating covers and dike crossings.

Applications

Where fuel-system steel goes.

Data center generator yards and standby-power plants; hospital, utility and industrial standby generation; microgrids and remote-site power; and generator-set packagers who need skids, tanks supports and piping delivered with their units. Developers and electrical contractors buy the yard package; generator OEMs and packagers buy skids and spools to complete their scope.

Why FabTek

Containment that is tested, not assumed.

A containment pan with a pinhole is not containment. FabTek leak-tests every welded pan and curb before finish, pressure-tests every fuel spool, and ships records with each item. Skids are detailed to the tank manufacturer's certified drawings and the generator's day-tank location so the fuel runs land where the piping plan says.

Why FabTek

A domestic single-source build.

Made in the U.S.A.

Built at four production sites in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.

Quality you can audit

ISO 9001:2015 quality management, AWS-certified welding, OSHA-compliant facilities.

Finish that lasts

In-house powder coat backed by an IEEE 2000-hour salt-spray certification.

Built to scale

Reserved-line capacity and the automation to grow with your volume.

Frequently Asked

Common questions.

Does FabTek fabricate fuel piping for generator yards?

Yes. We weld single- and double-wall carbon steel fuel spools to ASME B31.1/B31.3 with Section IX welders, pressure-tested and documented.

Which fabricators build day-tank skids and fuel containment?

FabTek Industries fabricates day-tank skids, containment pans, tank saddles and fill stations at its Mississippi plants for data center developers, electrical contractors and generator packagers.

Does FabTek make the fuel tanks?

No. Tanks are the tank manufacturer's. We fabricate the skids, saddles, containment, enclosures and piping around them.

Can the fuel steel ship with the generator enclosures?

Yes. Generator enclosures, fuel steel and yard supports come from the same plants on one schedule.
