One structure above the rows that carries everything — busway, cable tray, ladder rack, cooling pipe, containment and lights — fabricated as a grid or as pre-assembled multi-trade racks instead of four trades hanging four sets of rods.
Above a data hall's rows, the electrical contractor hangs busway, the low-voltage contractor hangs ladder rack and fiber tray, the mechanical contractor hangs TCS pipe and manifolds, and someone hangs the containment and the lights. Done trade by trade, that is thousands of threaded rods and four sets of coordination problems. Done as a unified overhead support grid, or as prefabricated multi-trade racks that arrive with all the hangers already in place, it is one structure, detailed once, hung once.
FabTek fabricates overhead support grids and multi-trade racks at our Hazlehurst, Mississippi plants: structural strut and HSS grid members, welded trapezes and headers, beam clamps and attachment plates, and pre-assembled rack sections with busway hangers, tray supports and pipe saddles installed to the coordinated model. The grid ships powder-coated or galvanized, in sections sized to the lift, and the cable tray supports, busway hangers and pipe supports it carries come from the same floor.
Strut and HSS grid systems spanning between building structure, with drop-rod or welded hanger points at the coordinated spacing.
Pre-assembled trapeze sections carrying busway, tray, pipe and lighting supports in one unit.
Welded trapezes and header beams for heavy loads where strut will not do.
Beam clamps, deck plates, inserts and anchor plates matched to the building structure.
Grid-mounted brackets for aisle containment, lighting and cable drops.
Send the coordinated BIM or the support layout; we fabricate sections to it and tag them to the grid line.

Hyperscale and colocation data halls, electrical rooms and gray space, mechanical galleries, and retrofits adding liquid cooling over existing rows. GCs and developers buy the grid as a single package to take it off the trade contractors' critical path; electrical and mechanical contractors buy prefabricated rack sections to cut hanging time.

An overhead grid only works if it matches the BIM everyone else is working from. FabTek fabricates grid sections and rack assemblies from the coordinated model, holds hanger spacing to the busway and tray manufacturer's requirements, and tags every section to its grid line and row so the installing crew hangs it in sequence. See our guide to cable tray supports and ladder rack for data centers for how the trades share the structure.
Built at four production sites in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.
ISO 9001:2015 quality management, AWS-certified welding, OSHA-compliant facilities.
In-house powder coat backed by an IEEE 2000-hour salt-spray certification.
Reserved-line capacity and the automation to grow with your volume.
A unified structure hung from the building frame above the rows that carries busway, cable tray, piping, containment and lighting on one set of supports instead of separate trade-by-trade hangers.

Yes. Busway hangers, tray supports and pipe saddles are installed on rack sections in the shop to the coordinated spacing.
