The fiber laser is where every cabinet, enclosure, switchgear panel and bus duct housing FabTek builds begins. Flat patterns from our engineering group are nested on the sheet, cut with the kerf and edge quality that forming and powder coat expect, and moved to the press brakes on the same floor. Cutouts, louver blanks, hardware holes and part marking come off the laser in one program, so downstream operations start from a finished blank rather than a rough one.
The primary cell is an Amada ENSIS 3015 AJ — a variable-beam fiber laser that adjusts its beam to the material, so the same machine cuts thin galvanized sheet and thicker carbon plate cleanly. A dual-shuttle table lets one pallet load while the other cuts, which is what keeps the machine cutting through a long production run. Two additional laser cells carry overflow and secondary work. The result is a laser department that nests high volumes of custom and repeat parts on the same sheet — a one-off bracket rides along with a production run of cabinet blanks.
Bodies, doors, panels and covers for transformer cabinets, NEMA 3R and 4X enclosures, switchgear panels and control cabinets.
Aluminum and steel housing blanks with cover and flange hole patterns cut in one program.
Small parts nested into the sheet around the main blanks to use material and machine time.
Louver panels, screened-vent frames and perforated patterns cut for forming.
Stainless for 4X enclosures and sanitary conveyor parts; aluminum for bus duct and busway.
Laser-cut blanks shipped flat to customers who form and finish in their own plant.

Custom and repeat parts nested together by material and gauge to use the sheet.

The variable-beam fiber laser cuts galvanized, stainless, aluminum and carbon on one machine.

The dual-shuttle table keeps the beam moving while finished parts come off and are kitted by job.

Blanks are kitted by job and move to forming and welding without leaving the building.

Every sheet-metal product family FabTek builds — transformer cabinets, switchgear and control enclosures, bus ducts and busways, generator and BESS enclosures — starts on the laser, along with sheet parts for tank accessories, conveyor guards and data center enclosures. OEMs also buy laser-cut blanks and kits to form and assemble on their own lines.

The dual-shuttle table is what lets one laser serve both kinds of work. A laser that stops to unload and reload runs at a fraction of its rated speed; a shuttle table keeps the beam moving while an operator unloads the finished pallet and loads the next sheet. That throughput is what lets FabTek nest a custom one-off part into the same sheet as a production run of cabinet blanks, so a single enclosure, a prototype and a hundred-cabinet program all come off the same machine on the same schedule — see dedicated production lines for how repeat programs are held. Custom or repeat, the part is cut from the flat pattern in the model, so the second order matches the first.

FabTek Industries cuts on an Amada ENSIS fiber laser and forms, welds and powder coats on the same site in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, so laser-cut parts become finished cabinets, enclosures and housings without leaving the building.
Yes. The ENSIS's variable-beam fiber source handles stainless and aluminum as well as carbon and galvanized sheet. Heavier plate and heat-sensitive work move to the waterjet.
