A continuous-conveyor line — pre-treatment, powder primer booth, powder top-coat booth and cure oven — built for the cabinet, enclosure and panel volumes FabTek runs for transformer, switchgear and data center OEMs.
The automated line is where transformer cabinets, switchgear panels, enclosure doors and busway housings get their finish. Parts are hung on a continuous conveyor, pass through pre-treatment, into a powder primer booth, through a powder top-coat booth and into the cure oven, and come off ready for hardware and assembly. Because the conveyor never stops, the throughput matches the laser and press brakes upstream, and a cabinet program runs through finish at the same pace it runs through forming.
Every rack is inspected: film thickness is read and recorded, color is checked against the batch standard, and cure is verified against the oven profile. Recipes for OEM colors are stored so a cabinet finished this month matches the one finished last year. The two-coat primer-and-top-coat system is what the line was designed around, because outdoor electrical equipment needs the corrosion protection a primer gives and the appearance and UV resistance a top coat gives.

Many powder coaters apply one coat. FabTek's line applies a powder primer under the top coat on outdoor parts because that is what the 2,000-hour salt-spray standard rewards: the primer gives corrosion protection at scratches and edges, the top coat gives color, gloss and UV resistance. On a cabinet that will stand in a utility yard or on a data center pad for decades, the second coat is the cheapest insurance in the build. Our post on what the IEEE 2,000-hour salt spray test means explains the standard.
