A transformer, its switchgear and the bus between them on one welded base — assembled, finished and factory-tested in the shop, then lifted onto the pad as a single piece of equipment.
A power skid puts a megawatt block's worth of electrical equipment on a common structural base: a pad-mount or dry-type transformer, the low-voltage switchgear or switchboard it feeds, the enclosed bus between them, and the cable management, grounding and weather protection around it. The design is the electrical engineer's and the equipment is the OEM's; the base, the enclosures, the bus housings, the supports and the assembly are fabrication. Hyperscale developers specify them so the power chain can be built in parallel with the building and set in hours.
FabTek fabricates power skids at our Hazlehurst, Mississippi plants. We weld the structural base to the equipment loads and lifting plan, fabricate the switchgear enclosures and enclosed bus assemblies that sit on it, set customer-supplied transformers and gear where the project specifies it, and finish the assembly on our powder-coat line. Open skids, weather-protected skids with roofs and screens, and fully enclosed units that cross into E-Room territory all come from the same floor.
Welded wide-flange, channel and plate bases with lifting lugs, forklift pockets, leveling and anchor provisions.
Equipment pads, mounting channels, seismic restraints and oil-containment curbs where required.
Enclosed bus housings, cable trays and conduit supports between the equipment.
Roofs, sunshades, screens and partial enclosures for outdoor skids.
Customer-supplied transformers, switchgear and panels set, anchored and bus-landed to the drawings.
The same skid released hall after hall, with fixtured bases and retained drawings.

Data center power blocks and electrical yards, generator paralleling and ATS assemblies, BESS and solar interconnects, and industrial unit substations. Developers and EPCs buy them to compress the electrical schedule; switchgear and transformer OEMs buy bases and enclosures to deliver their equipment as a skid.

A power skid is only useful if it lifts straight, lands level and anchors where the pad was drilled. FabTek details the base to the actual equipment weights and centers of gravity, builds in the lifting points the crane plan calls for, and ships an anchor template so the pad is ready before the truck arrives. Built at four production sites in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.
ISO 9001:2015 quality management, AWS-certified welding, OSHA-compliant facilities.
In-house powder coat backed by an IEEE 2000-hour salt-spray certification.
Reserved-line capacity and the automation to grow with your volume.
The equipment is the OEM's and the electrical design is the engineer's. FabTek fabricates the base, enclosures, bus housings and supports, and installs customer-supplied equipment where the project specifies it.
FabTek Industries fabricates structural skid bases, enclosures and bus housings and assembles power skids at its Mississippi plants for data center developers, EPCs and electrical OEMs.
A power skid is an open or partially protected base with equipment mounted on it; an E-Room is a fully enclosed, climate-controlled room. FabTek builds both.
Yes. Bases are fixtured and drawings retained so later halls release against the same details.
