The hardware, doors, gaskets, drives and sub-assemblies that turn a powder-coated weldment into a finished product — fitted on FabTek's assembly floor to the drawing, checked for fit and function, and packaged for the line or the site.
A transformer cabinet leaves the powder coat line as a body and two doors. It arrives at the OEM as a cabinet — hinges pinned, doors hung and adjusted, gasket applied, latches and penta-head hardware installed, louvers and screens fitted, nameplate studs in place. That last hundred parts is mechanical assembly, and on a program of hundreds of cabinets it is a real amount of labor that FabTek carries so the OEM's line doesn't have to.
The assembly floor sits after the powder coat lines and before shipping. Assemblers work from the customer's drawing and an assembly record for the part family; hardware and gaskets are kitted by unit; every assembly is checked for fit and operation before it is packaged. The same floor mounts drives, belts and guards on conveyor sections, attaches platforms to skid bases, and fits the sub-assemblies on generator and BESS enclosures.

An OEM assembling FabTek cabinets on its own line has to learn each part family — which hinge goes where, how much gasket compression the door needs, how the louver frame seats. FabTek's assemblers already know, because they work from the same drawings the cabinet was fabricated to and from an assembly record built when the family was first produced. That is why programs move assembly to FabTek: it is faster on our floor, and it leaves the OEM's labor for the electrical work only they can do — or that work moves here too, through electrical assembly.
