A Peddinghaus Anglemaster 643 for angle to 5/8" by 6", a Geka Hydracrop 110/A ironworker for bar, flat and small shapes, and HE&M band saws behind them — the high-volume small-member work that a structures package is full of.
A substation structures package is a few big members and a great many small ones: angle bracing, clip angles, flat-bar ties, channel stringers, small brackets. Each needs holes punched, ends sheared and a mark stamped, and there are hundreds of them. Doing that work on a drill line or a coper ties up the machine that should be processing beams; doing it by hand is slow and inconsistent. An angle line and an ironworker exist for exactly this work.
FabTek's Peddinghaus Anglemaster 643 punches, shears and marks angle up to 5/8" × 6" from a CNC program, feeding from stock length to finished part without an operator laying anything out. The Geka Hydracrop 110/A ironworker punches, shears and notches flat bar, angle and small plate for the parts that don't justify a program. HE&M band saws cut stock to length for both. Together they turn the small-member list into finished, marked parts while the copers and drill line stay on beams.
Diagonal bracing, clip angles and connection angles for substation and transmission structures.
Ties, stringers, stiffeners and small channel members punched and sheared to length.
Small structural parts for equipment stands, cable tray supports and platform steel.
Angle and bar bracing for conveyor systems and equipment platforms.
Small-member kits bundled by structure and match-marked for the erector.

Stock angle punched, sheared and marked from a CNC program with no layout.

Flat bar, angle and small plate punched and notched on the ironworker.

Clips, braces, stands and supports banded and tagged for the next cell.

Small members feed welding, galvanizing and assembly.

Every galvanized structure in a substation or transmission package carries dozens of angle and bar members; equipment stands, cable tray supports, platforms and conveyor frames carry more. Kits are punched, marked, galvanized through partners and bundled by structure so the erection crew opens one bundle per structure.

The point of the angle line is what it takes off the copers. A structures package that ran every clip angle across a Voortman would tie the coper up for days on parts that take the Anglemaster seconds. Routing small members to the angle line and ironworker keeps the copers and drill line on beams, which is what keeps the whole package on schedule. Our engineering group sorts the member list by machine when the package is detailed, so the work reaches the right cell without a foreman re-sorting it.

FabTek Industries processes angle and small members on a Peddinghaus Anglemaster 643 and a Geka ironworker at its Hazlehurst, Mississippi plants, alongside two Voortman copers and a Peddinghaus drill line.
Yes. The angle line stamps part marks as it processes, and small-member kits are bundled and match-marked by structure.
