A length of mechanical gallery built on a frame in the shop — pipe spooled and hung, duct and tray in place, busway and lighting supports set, panels mounted — tested, tagged to the grid line and lifted into the building as one piece.
The mechanical and electrical galleries of a data center are repetitive: the same pipe, duct, tray and busway running the same way for hundreds of feet. Prefabricated MEP assemblies take advantage of that. A structural frame is built to the corridor's cross-section, the piping is spooled and hung on it, the duct and tray are installed, the busway and lighting supports are set, and the whole module is tested and shipped to be bolted to the next one. It is the logical end of the pipe spool, overhead grid and multi-trade rack scopes, and it is what hyperscale GCs are asking for.
FabTek fabricates prefabricated MEP assemblies at our Hazlehurst, Mississippi plants, where the structural frames, the spools, the duct, the supports and the panel enclosures are all built under the same roof. Modules are assembled to the coordinated model, hydrotested and leak-tested as units, finished on our powder-coat line, and shipped in lifts sized to the crane and the building opening. Electrical and controls installation is done to the contractor's drawings where the project includes it.
Framed sections of gallery with pipe, duct, tray and busway supports installed, joined end to end on site.
Overhead rack sections with hangers and services pre-installed; see overhead support grid.
Framed modules with pumps, exchangers, manifolds and panels set and piped.
Stacked riser frames with pipe and duct installed, for multi-story halls.
Match-marked joint pieces, flex connections and closure spools for site joints.
Send the coordinated model and the equipment schedule; we build modules to it.

Hyperscale and colocation campuses with repetitive galleries; multi-story data centers with stacked risers; modular and containerized data center products; and industrial plants with long utility corridors. GCs and developers buy modules to compress schedule and cut site labor; mechanical and electrical contractors buy them as their own prefab, built elsewhere; modular data center OEMs buy them as subassemblies.

Prefab MEP falls apart when the frame comes from one shop, the spools from another and the duct from a third. FabTek builds the structural, piping, sheet-metal and enclosure scope in the same plants, assembles modules to the coordinated model, and fits adjacent modules together before shipment so the site joints close. Our guide to what a hyperscaler GC buys from a metal fabricator covers where prefab fits the schedule.
Built at four production sites in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.
ISO 9001:2015 quality management, AWS-certified welding, OSHA-compliant facilities.
In-house powder coat backed by an IEEE 2000-hour salt-spray certification.
Reserved-line capacity and the automation to grow with your volume.
A structural module built offsite with mechanical, electrical and plumbing services installed on it, delivered and connected as one piece instead of installed trade by trade in the field.
FabTek Industries fabricates and tests utility corridor and mechanical room modules at its Mississippi plants, with the frames, spools, duct and enclosures built in-house, for GCs, developers and modular data center OEMs.
We install the electrical supports, enclosures and raceway; wiring and terminations are done to the electrical contractor's drawings where the project includes it.
At match-marked splice joints with closure spools and flex connections supplied in the connection kit.
