The overhead busway runs that carry power down the rows, and the tap boxes, end feeds and hangers that go with them — fabricated to the electrical designer's layout for data center white space and electrical rooms.
Data centers moved power distribution off the floor and into the air. Overhead busway runs the length of a row, tap-off boxes drop power to each rack or cabinet, and when the row layout changes the boxes move instead of the conduit. The electrical system — bar, insulators, tap-box internals, monitoring — is the busway manufacturer's or the integrator's design. The housings, the end-feed and tap-box enclosures, the transition and termination pieces and the structural hanger system are sheet-metal and structural fabrication, and they have to be produced in volume, to a repeatable finish, on the data center's schedule.
FabTek fabricates busway housings and accessories to print at our Hazlehurst, Mississippi plants. CNC laser cutting and press-brake forming hold the repeatability that a row of forty identical sections needs; certified welding handles the end-feed and transition pieces; the in-house powder-coat line delivers a consistent finish across a whole hall. For data center developers and the electrical contractors and integrators who serve them, the point is one domestic fabricator who can carry the housings, the hangers and the electrical-room enclosures on the same schedule.
Straight and elbow sections in aluminum or steel, formed and finished for continuous overhead runs.
Formed enclosures for row and rack tap-off units, with cutouts for receptacles, breakers and monitoring per the integrator's design.
End-feed enclosures, transition sections and terminations to the panelboard, PDU or RPP.
Trapeze hangers, drop rods, seismic bracing frames and ceiling-grid supports sized to the run and the room's structure.
PDU, RPP and UPS cabinet housings and cable tray supports on the same order — see PDU, UPS & battery cabinets and cable tray supports.
Repeat production against the integrator's drawings across phases and campuses.

Overhead busway serves the white space — hyperscale, colocation and enterprise halls — where rack density and churn make cable and conduit impractical. It also runs in electrical rooms and gray space between the UPS output and the PDUs, and in the mechanical galleries feeding cooling equipment.
Data center developers and their electrical contractors buy housings and hangers for new halls and for fit-outs of shell buildings; busway integrators and OEMs buy fabricated enclosures and sections to complete their systems; colocation operators buy tap-box enclosures and hanger systems as rows are reconfigured. Our Metal Fabrication for Data Centers page covers the full scope FabTek supplies to a campus.

Data center construction runs on phases, and every phase needs the same housings, the same finish and the same hanger details it got last time. FabTek fixtures the forming for a busway program so section forty matches section one, holds the powder-coat color and texture across orders, and keeps the drawings and revision history so the next hall can be released with a purchase order rather than a redesign. Our data center power demand and lead times post explains why a domestic fabricator that can carry the metal scope matters to the schedule.
Built at four production sites in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.
ISO 9001:2015 quality management, AWS-certified welding, OSHA-compliant facilities.
In-house powder coat backed by an IEEE 2000-hour salt-spray certification.
Reserved-line capacity and the automation to grow with your volume.
FabTek fabricates the metal — housings, tap-box and end-feed enclosures, transitions and hanger systems — to the busway manufacturer's, integrator's or engineer's drawings. The bar, insulators and electrical components are the system designer's scope.
FabTek Industries fabricates busway housings, tap-box enclosures and hanger systems at its Mississippi plants for data center developers, electrical contractors and busway integrators, with in-house powder coat and nationwide shipment.
Yes. PDU, RPP and UPS cabinet housings, battery cabinets, cable tray supports and equipment platforms can be fabricated alongside the busway housings so the electrical room's metal scope comes from one source.
Fixtured forming, first-article inspection at the start of each run and a controlled powder-coat process. Drawings and revisions are retained so later phases are released against the same details.
