When a large utility provider asked if we could assist with their datacenter demand through bus ducts, we gladly complied — and are now scaling monthly production.
The datacenter buildout is reshaping demand across the power grid, and bus ducts are one of the components feeling it most. So when a utility customer approached FabTek to help absorb their growing bus duct demand, the question wasn't whether we wanted the work — it was how fast we could be ready.
Our team stood up a dedicated bus duct production line within weeks, not months. That speed comes from a simple structural advantage: we don't outsource core processes. Cutting, forming, welding, finishing, and assembly all happen on our own floor, across four Mississippi sites, so standing up a new line is a matter of scheduling capacity we already own — not coordinating a chain of outside vendors.
The program has been scaling steadily since. And on the same customer's request, we subsequently added single-phase step voltage regulators to our product catalog — a new SKU driven entirely by partnership signal rather than a forecast on a spreadsheet.
That's the kind of partner FabTek aims to be: when a customer needs capacity fast, the answer is yes, and the line is running before the competition has finished quoting.
